Trades such as the most recent between the Patriots and Raiders for veteran defensive end Richard Seymour don’t necessarily sit well with all involved. But decisions like there seem to be a way of life in the NFL.

“Who would be thrilled to go to the Oakland Raiders?,cheap jerseys,”,nba jersey; former Patriots teammate Rodney Harrison told PFT. “Maybe somebody who’s happy to just get a chance but not a guy like Richard Seymour, a five-time Pro Bowler. For a veteran player to go to Oakland at this juncture it’s just difficult.”

But not only has this decision directly affected the future of Richard Seymour but also those whom went to battle each game day. Even Tom Brady could not help but incite conversation about the decision and how it has affected his outlook.
“Our goals are the team goals,” Brady said this morning on the Dennis and Callahan program. “At the same time you’ve got to understand what’s best for the team isn’t always what’s best for you as a player. It’s a real fine line because you want to feel the commitment and the loyalty to the team, but you’ve got to understand it doesn’t go both ways. And that’s OK, because we’re getting a lot out of it as well. Having the opportunity to win, the opportunity to play and improver as a player, those are all things that being in the situation we’re in with the Patriots, there’s nothing more you can really ask for.”

But with this decision, Brady as well as others have to focus on the future, yet refrain from expressing their true feelings in order to save face for their beloved New Engalnd Patriots. A franchise is in a business and rarely is the business looking into the best interest of the individual.

“Things change very fast,” Brady said. “They change for all of us. They changed for me quite a bit last year after the first regular season game. They changed for Richard. They changed for guys [who were cut] this past weekend. The reality is you’ve got to learn to adjust, that’s just the way it is.

And with these changes, players will continue to feel the dissasociation of loyalty. Looking outside it is easy to point the finger at a player bettering themselves with a move to a better team, or financial situation. But we are twice removed from the actualities of why teams make the decisions they do in improving their roster.

“Football is unconditional love. It’s tough in a lot of ways because you develop relationships with your teammates and these are your friends and your family. You spend more time with these guys than you spend with your own family. And a guy like Richard who’s meant so much to the organization, after being here going on his ninth season and three championships and being a team captain. And he’s just a wonderful person so, he’s a professional I know that. He works very hard. He’s going to bring a lot to [the Raiders] so as much as we’ll miss him they’re getting a great player.”

The future of football may very well not have room for family and relationships in these business dealings. You create a relationship while convenient working with the personnel you have, striving to improve your arsenal. In the end there are just too many hands in the decision making process and far more interests involved in whats what, the New England Patriots are not any different then any other NFL team. As a player, nfl jerseys wholesale, there is no place for becoming too attached.

“Well everybody is in a different situation in the locker room and I think when you subscribe to being part of a team, you subscribe to what’s in the best interest of the team,” he said. “And my role as a quarterback is not to make personnel moves or to determine whether those personnel moves were right for the team or not right for the team. My job is just to show up and do the best I can do. I think that’s really stressed. And that’s not only in football, that’s in everyone’s job. Unless you’re the one writing the check, I mean you really don’t have a lot of say in much…”
